Update: (Feb 02, 2006)
- I feel like a cave-man. No internet at home yet.
- Customer care of SBC Yahoo! DSL hold a degree in transferring our calls to tech support and back.
- I think my boss read this post and is keeping me busy. Sorry Boss. Please read this too.
- I like to follow a no-net-at-work-rule but these days somehow I feel like breaking all rules.
- This is the last line of the update. Back to work.
- Okay one more. There are 99.312% chances that this Sunday I will watch Rang de Basanti.
Ek kavita likhna chahta hun
Apne aansuon ko shabd dena chahta hun..
Unse kabhi mulaqat hogi to arz karenge
Woh naa bhi sune...ek wah to darz karenge..
Barkat hai ki shabdon ki kami humein nahi..
majboor hain, yeh aansu abhi tak thamein nahi..
So this is what a budding Civil Engineer sitting in his cubicle, on the 35th floor of a high rise in the 3rd largest city in US does. Not to forget the breathtaking view of the semi-frozen Lake Michigan.
The news is that I got a raise yesterday. Not just me, everyone got a raise. Why? Because its that time of the year when the company reviews the pay packages. Some time yest, my phone rang and almost simultaneously Outlook notified me of a new mail.
The friend (on fone): "You got it?"
Me: Ya..dude..reading..
friend: WTF!
Me: I dont know..
friend: you got the same?.$*.* ?
Me : yo...I guess we have exaclty the same talents and working abilities.
Honestly, I dont care about money too much. I like to think that I can happily manage with whatever comes my way. When I was in college, I was happy with whatever I got to spend in the canteen. When I was in Bangalore, I was happy not watching every movie screened in the PVRs. And now here, I am happy with whatever I get to send back home.
(I do understand that I have not seen the worst of the life yet and when it will come it may well change my beliefs and make me run after the gold.)
Given all that, I was eagerly waiting for the moment because I wanted a feedback. May be a rating would have done just fine.
The more exciting news is that its 12:37 am on Saturday and I have to move into a new apartment starting 8:00 am on the same Saturday :D ..
I have been packing my stuff this week so not much is left. Its going to be a hectic Saturday. and I am guessing that it might take a couple of days to get the internet setup and everything else. So I might just be away....(like if anyone will notice!)
